Back on the Tracking Wagon after Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving has come and gone…

Coach Courtney here with some post Thanksgiving encouragement. It’s the day after and you’re wondering how you could have possibly consumed that much food! The pumpkin pie I’m sure was worth it. Well it’s the day after your pants are a little tighter and now it’s time to get back on the tracking wagon.

No need to panic or punish yourself, here is how to restart and keep it moving!

1. Press the reset button and start moving. Put those shoes on, head to the gym, go for a brisk morning walk, or just get back to your regular exercise routine. Not only will you feel so much better afterwards, but it’ll help burn off some of those calories.

2. Avoid leftovers, or politely decline taking leftovers from guests. If you’re the host, send leftovers with your guests so you don’t find yourself at the refrigerator having just one spoonful of leftover stuffing or mashed potatoes, soon that will turn into 5 spoonfuls. If you’re the guest, and you’re offered a plate or bag of leftovers, politely decline. Trust me, you will feel so much better if you make this decision!

3. Don’t starve yourself the following day. The worst thing that you can possibly do is to deprive yourself of your regular meals and snacks the next day. Eat as you normally would, and change nothing about your routine, eventually your body’s rhythm will be back to normal! Another great idea is to increase your potassium intake. Increasing this will flush your system, because it is a natural diuretic, and will decrease all of that sodium intake! How cool is that? Some foods that are rich in potassium are Spinach, Bananas, Cucumbers, Mushrooms, and Peas.

4. Just remember that one day of overindulging does not ruin your progress, it is not the end of the world. I promise! Once you’re back on track, your worries of that Thanksgiving meal will be a thing of the past!

Don’t worry friends, you’re still worthy of a strong health and wellness journey. One day or even weekend of eating does not define you! In case you missed it, we’re running a HUGE sale on Healthi PRO today for Cyber Monday! Click HERE to find out all of the details!
