Chef Allie’s Greek Chicken Gyro
A really easy and delicious dinner idea packed with flavor!
Greek Chicken Gyro
Serves 4 People
Ingredients
1.5 Pounds | Chicken Breast |
Dash | Salt & Pepper |
1 Tsp | Garlic Powder |
1 Tsp | Onion Powder |
1 Tsp | Dried Parsley |
1 Tsp | Dried Dill |
2 Tsp | Dak’s Super Greek Seasoning |
1 Tbsp | Minced Garlic |
4 | Joseph Pita Breads |
1 Cup | Non-Fat Greek Yogurt |
1/2 Tbsp | Lemon Zest |
1/2 Tbsp | Lemon Juice |
1 Cup | Grape Tomatoes |
1 | Red Onion |
3 | Mini Cucumbers |
6oz | Fat Free Feta (Athenos) |
1/2 Tsp | Fresh Parsley |
Fresh | Mint |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375F. Place chicken into an oven safe dish. Spray lightly with avocado oil. Season chicken with salt, pepper, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1 tsp Dak’s Super Greek seasoning. Cook until internal temperature reaches 165F. About 25-30 minutes. Set aside when done.
- In a bowl combine the non fat greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp Dak’s Greek seasoning, 1/2 tbsp dried dill, 1 tsp dried parsley, salt & pepper (to taste).
- Grate one of the mini cucumbers and squeeze as much liquid out from the grated cucumber and add back into the yogurt mixture.
- Assemble pita with tzatziki sauce, chopped lettuce, chicken, thinly sliced onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, fat free feta, fresh parsley, and fresh mint.
