Weekend Reading: Creative Halloween Ideas

Saturday, Oct 17, 2020 | Featured, Lifestyle

It’s often said the greatest acts of creativity are derived from unexpectedly hard circumstances. It seems that adage has never held so true than right now- living through a pandemic. We’re seeing new business pop up, new books being written, new music being made, and new ways of engaging via technology. This is so accurate to the modern day party host! We’ve seen weddings become more intimate, or intentional with gathering. We’ve seen book clubs opt for zoom calls. Nevertheless, creative juices are flowing!

In a fun edition of our Weekend Reading Segment (read week one here), we’re showing you four creative ways to host an autumn. Whether spooky or special, it can still be spectacular!

Candy Charcuterie Board

Opting out of the full neighborhood trick-or-treating this year? Here’s a cute and simple way to still make it fun for you and your family. We stumbled upon Meg Quinn on Instagram and WOW! She’s a must-follow for any fellow food board lovers. Which are you going with- sweet or salty?

Virtual Cocktail Class

Pick out an atypical cocktail, send out a zoom link, and indulge in a stimulating virtual experience. We love the ideal of this one! Find all the details here. Make sure to send your friends a grocery list a few days in advance!

Newsworthy Costume Contest

So you’re opting to stay inside, and you didn’t purchase any costumes this year. Lame? NOPE! Challenge your household to a costume-making contest using only paper and tape. Grab a few old newspapers for each participant, set a timer, and let the magic happen!

BOO! Bags

This has been around far before this year. Still fun and creative nevertheless! Fill a small gift bag with treats (and maybe even some tricks) and drop on the porch of your favorite people. Challenge them, with a note, to do the same for others! This tutorial is from a blog post we found on Pinterest!

We hope these simple, yet silly, ideas breathe some creative life into your halloween plans! Be sure to tell us in the comments below what your halloween plans are! Better yet, if you participate in any of these activities, be sure to snap a picture and tag us on Instagram (@itrackbites)!
