Summertime Favorites: DIY Popsicles

Hi Family, Coach Stefanie here~

One of my favorite things to eat during the hot summer days are ice cream and popsicles. But these can quickly add up if you buy them in store. While there are some low BITE alternatives, they’re also full of unknown ingredients.

But popsicles can be a low BITE snack if you make them at home. All you need are some popsicle zip bags which you can get from amazon and your favorite liquid to semi liquid.

You can fill them with anything that sounds good to you! My favorite way is to purée fruits and mix them with water or another liquid. You can also make yogurt pops with Greek yogurt and fruit for a zero BITE, delicious popsicle!

Depending on your plan, puréed fruit may not be zero. But I personally still count the small amount I use for popsicles as zero as long as I only eat one or two.

Here are some of my favorite combinations:

  • Strawberries and Greek yogurt – a classic
  • Banana, Greek yogurt and peanut butter powder
  • Orange juice, pineapple and mango
  • Watermelon
  • Orange juice
  • Any sugar free juice that you like is also perfect as popsicle
  • Drink mix packets dissolved in water (my favorite are the skittles ones)

Simply mix your items together using a stand mixer or hand mixer. Then use a funnel to add them to your little zip bags. Throw them in the freezer and you’re done!

Plus, you can reuse them or put them back after half (if you have that much self control)!

If you do the drink mix ones they will be more like traditional popsicles but without the sugar. If you want something more creamy and adult then I suggest opting for the ones with Greek yogurt!
